Khushboo

My work is a visual expression of my migration; in my mid-teens, I migrated to my current residential country for a safer life. As I began to adjust to my new life, I did my best to hold-on to memories from life I knew before this one. I found it easier to navigate between both the worlds practicing crafts, creating textile designs and adorning architecture. My work is hence influenced by my experience of living in two worlds - a world of memory and a world of reality. It is personal yet its imagery is created to transcend a connection beyond me with others.
I would like my work to be a catalyst for viewers to reflect on their own journey; create their own narratives around it. I also want them to look at the material aspects of the work and the sense of fragility that is offered in it. This sense of fragility, I believe, is the very essence of life.
