My work is majorly based on my condition wherein I experience visual and auditory hallucination. I was diagnosed with partial complex epilepsy 6 years ago and been under treatment ever since. I have experienced good amount of struggles with psychoactive drugs and anti-epileptic medication. The process of making these works proved to be a therapeutic experience for me. I have found that putting my fears, my stress, and my anxiety through art helps me cope with my mental and emotion state. Since there is no way for me to fully understand the things or people I see in my hallucination, I try to bring out an interpretation of my own in an attempt to find a closure. Through the self-portraits, I intend to tell my story as truthful as possible, talking about things that give me small pleasures that help me get through my day and how eventually, I learned to accept my flaws and my fears. By telling my story, I am hoping to help people see that no matter how hard life gets, there is always a way one can find happiness.
